I'm not one to lie about the crazy intense workouts I've been doing, so let's face the facts. I have a full time job, doing manual labor at a garden shop. Lots of heavy lifting and shit, and yeah it really is a pretty good workout. After work, I'm pretty exhausted and have found it REAL hard to make myself work out. I don't live anywhere conducive to running, biking, anything else outside, and moved to a town about 45 minutes from anyone I can throw with. I'm too crippled to use a treadmill, and don't have a stationary bike. And it's connecticut, so it's fucking freezing out anyway.
And I'll be a man and admit upfront, I was using all that as an excuse. Yeah I may have a hard time finding time to do cardio, but that doesn't mean I can't work it in. So in the last week or so, I've done pushups and situps every day before work. Like Sniffles, I'm trying to maximize the effect of the work I've been doing on my body, especially trying to strengthen my back (lifting 70 lb bales of dirt off the floor 20 or so times a day seems to be doing the trick a bit, but not much else). I joined a gym, and now just have to get my ass there after work to hit up the ellipticals/bikes. I've also gone snowboarding, at minor risk to my health, but a damn good leg workout too.
If you've been lazy, I won't blame you. I have too. It's real hard to work out around a hectic work schedule and everything else you want to do in the winter. But it's not too late - still over a month till we're back in the 302, which is more than enough time to get a solid base of conditioning. We're gonna be doing a lot of running on that B team field, and now's the time to get ready for it.
love,
shades.
PS: hamburglar, that's fucking awesome. congrats buddy, great job
